  1. We ask for no account and no sign-in, and we do not know your name unless you write it yourself.
  2. Your location never leaves your device — prayer times and qibla are computed on it.
  3. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers, and there is no ad tracking.
  4. We collect an anonymous usage statistic (how many minutes you use the app, and how many days you return to it) — and you can turn it off with one tap in Settings → Privacy. Full detail below.

What is stored, and where?

Everything in the table below stays on your device alone and is sent to no server. What is sent — the usage statistic, and nothing else — has its own section after it, so that what stays is never confused with what leaves.

ItemWhere it is storedWhy
Your chosen city, calculation method and madhabOn your device onlyTo compute prayer times
Per-prayer minute adjustmentsOn your device onlyTo match your local mosque
Text size, display mode and languageOn your device onlyYour preferences
Reading position and bookmarksOn your device onlyTo resume where you stopped
Dhikr counters and the worship logOn your device onlyYour personal tracking
Name and photo if you enter them in “My details”On your device onlyEntirely optional
Recitation files you downloadOn your device onlySo they play without a network

When you uninstall the app, all of this is deleted with it.

Usage statistics — the only thing that leaves your device

So the app owner can tell which of its sections serve people and which are abandoned, the app sends a single usage record for your device, which is updated rather than accumulated. This is everything in it, with nothing added:

SentWhy
A random id generated on your deviceSo you are recognised as the same device next time. It is not your phone number, not an advertising id, and it links you to no other app.
First-run date, and the last time you opened the appTo tell whether it is still in use
Total time in the app, session count, and how many days you came backTo measure what helps and what bores
Time in each section (Quran, adhkar, children…)To know which section deserves development
The prayer-times city you chose, the interface language, and the app versionTo know where the app spreads and in which language
Name, phone and email if you wrote them yourself in “My details”Entirely optional; the app works fully without them

And what is never sent:

The dividing line is deliberate: knowing that you spent forty minutes in the Quran helps develop the app; knowing which verse you read spies on your relationship with your Lord, and this app does not do that.

Turn it off with one tap: Settings → Privacy → “Share usage statistics”. Once off, nothing leaves your device afterwards.

The data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, inside a project owned by the app owner alone. Nobody else sees it, and it is neither sold nor shared.

Permissions and why

PermissionWhyRequired?
Location (approximate or precise) To detect your city automatically, for the qibla bearing, and to show nearby mosques. Coordinates are processed on the device and are never sent to us. No — you can pick your city from a list instead
NotificationsFor adhan and adhkar alertsNo
Exact alarm So the adhan arrives exactly on time — an alert minutes late loses its meaning No
VibrationOn completing a tasbih round or aligning the qiblaNo
Compass (sensor)On the qibla screen onlyNo — the bearing shows without a compass
Internet To download recitation and stream radio when you ask, map tiles, nearby mosques, and the published app settings No — every core function works without a network
Boot completedTo reschedule adhan alerts after the device restartsNo

Third-party services

The app is offline at its core. These are the only points at which it contacts an outside party — and in each of them we send no personal data about you:

PartyWhenWhat reaches it
Google Firebase (Firestore and Storage) To read the published app settings, banner and general announcement. The notification is raised locally on your device; we do not use push messaging (Cloud Messaging) IP address and an anonymous device token. No name, no email, no location.
EveryAyah.com When you ask to download a surah recitation IP address and the audio-file request. The download happens from your device directly.
MP3Quran.net and the radio streaming servers When you play a Quran radio station from the station list IP address and the stream request. Streaming happens from your device directly, and starts only when you tap.
OpenStreetMap When you open the location map or the nearby-mosques screen IP address and the coordinates of the displayed area, to fetch map tiles and places.
Fatwa and source websites When you explicitly tap a link The site opens in your device browser, governed by that site’s own policy.

Children

The app contains a children’s section. We collect no data from children, there is no behaviourally targeted advertising, and there are no in-app purchases — in line with the Google Play Families policy and COPPA.

Religious content

The app transmits, it does not issue rulings: every religious text in it is quoted verbatim from its source, together with the body that issued it, its reference, its grading and a link to the source. If you find an error, report it to the email below.

Ads and administrative alerts

The app may show a banner managed by the app owner himself (an announcement or a reminder). We use no third-party ad networks such as AdMob, we do not track your behaviour to show an ad, and we build no advertising profile about you. You can switch these alerts off entirely in the app settings.

Your rights

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. Any material change in data collection will be announced inside the app itself before it takes effect.

Contact

For questions, or to report an error in a religious text or in the app: contact@servijo.com

This policy describes the app as it is in version 1.0.0. It is written to match reality, not to satisfy a template — the permissions and third-party services named in it are exactly those in the published package.
